The Hwa Chong Institution is a premier independent school in Singapore for students aged 12 to 18 covering both secondary and pre-university levels. The main campus, a few miles west of the city centre in the district of Bukit Timah, covers 72 acres (29 ha) and is shared with the Hwa Chong International School, the Institution’s boarding school and the Bukit Timah campus of SIM University. Approximately 4000 students are enrolled in the school and it boasts a student-teacher ratio of 13:1.
During its rich 90 year history, the Hwa Chong Institution has become one of the finest educational institutions for high-achievers and the gifted in the region. Its reputation as a premier school is based not only on the academic excellence of the students but also their determination to excel in all other areas like leadership, sports and games, co-curricular activities, science research, and service to the community.
From the very first session in 2005, the Hwa Chong Institution has been serving as very gracious hosts for THIMUN’s Singapore conference.
